Fake Drugs Come With Real Risks

My uncle once told me that if ever I was going to do anything --good or bad- I should always do whatever it is I did to the best of my ability. It makes sense doesn't it, especially if you consider the current increase in the use of fake drugs? Yes, counterfeit cocaine or fake LSD. It appears drug peddlers have become increasingly desperate in their pursuit of easy profits by selling counterfeit drugs that require no smuggling risks to be taken. However, from the perspective of the user the story is much more bleak and troubling, with tales of suicide and horrific incidents near death experiences.

Counterfeit Drugs Are Dangerous

What really makes an addiction to counterfeit drugs dangerous is that you will be taking in a substance meant for one thing and then abusing it for another. Take bath salts for instance. In some parts of the country people are taking bath salts as a substitute for cocaine. Fake cocaine -as it is commonly referred to- is snorted, smoked and even injected in high schools across America and induces beyond normal paranoia, hallucinations and anxiety. Synthetic cocaine causes headaches, muscle cramps, depression and stomach pain as well.

The Policing Aspect

Since there are no laws prohibiting the use, manufacture or sale of these fake drugs, policing is problematic for law enforcement officials as a person can only be charged for an offense that was a recognized criminal offense at the time of the alleged conduct. As a direct result of this, the legal buffer that could have been a protective barrier for users is rendered useless. This means that the risks of physiological and psychological damage will increase as well since there will not be any measures to control the use of these drugs.

Drug Testing

Drug testing kits that test for drug purity and identity are now the only real hope for the scourge that is threatening to worsen the drug problem in America. DIY testing kits are available for cocaine, LSD, crystal meth and a whole host of other popular drugs. While substance abuse is altogether bad, it is only worsened if it is done incorrectly. Be sure to be on the lookout for counterfeit drugs as they can cost you your life.

Crystal meth is one of the most addicting substances that has ever been created. You have probably seen television shows showing how drug lords are able to make billions of dollars off of this drug, and that's probably close to the truth. It is very addicting, is very expensive, and it can wreak havoc on your health. People that are addicted often look much older than they are, their teeth will fall out, and their skin will begin to dry and wrinkled. It also does damage to your internal organs, so it is in everyone's best interest that is taking this drug to stop using it as soon as possible.

People that create this drug are considered to be cooks, and they will use anything from battery acid to antifreeze in order to make it.

It is illegal, and as a result of this, you can be put into jail if you are caught using this very addicting substance. You can get prescriptions for methamphetamines which are commonly prescribed by doctors to treat conditions like ADHD. They are stimulants of your central nervous system, which is why these drugs become addicting, especially those that are made illegally.

If you have ever been prescribed a pain medication from your doctor such as Vicodin or Norco, this is going to provide a similar effect, but far weaker than anything that heroin can do. How To Stop Your Addiction To Pain Meds Such As Oxycodone HCL

Are you currently taking oxycodone HCL? Was this provided to you by your local family physician in order to control pain? If it was, you should know that this is one of the most addicting substances that you can ever take because of the way that it changes certain receptors in your brain that are connected with your central nervous system.

This can happen with virtually any type of opiate-based drug including hydrocodone and codeine with Tylenol to name a few. Here's what you can expect from these drugs, the effects they will cause, and how you can stop your addiction.

What Do Opiates Actually Do In Your Body?

Opiates have a way of interacting with your mu and delta receptors in the brain which are connected to your central nervous system. They are activated through stimulation provided by the opiates, and over time, they will begin to require the same level of stimulation.

The withdrawal symptoms that people go through when they are stopping use of these drugs, either because they are buying them on the street, or because they had a prescription, will be the same very difficult experience which will include night sweats, leg tremors, and an overwhelming craving to get more of the drug.

Finding A Rehab Clinic In Your Area

There are rehab centers that you can contact right away that can help you with this problem. You can check into their facility, and over a period of several weeks, you can get through most difficult part of the withdrawal symptoms. If you have not been taking them very long, you probably won't have this occur. But if you are a lifelong user for pain or other reasons, and you want to stop, contact the rehab clinic today.

Oxycodone Addictions - Stop Your Addiction This Month

Opiates are derived from poppy seeds. In fact, opium has been used for thousands of years. It is used in many cultures to kill pain, but also to provide people with euphoria and motivation. Very similar in the way that cocaine can be helpful in giving you extra energy throughout the day, people that take opiates regularly often feel better about themselves and their lives because of how it stimulates the central nervous system. Many of these drugs that are prescribed for pain including oxycodone and OxyContin can provide you with the same type of feeling. Unfortunately, it is this feeling which causes people to become addicted, and addiction that you can actually treat.

How Opiates Work In Your Body

When you take opiates, those that you swallow, or if you get an injection, it is able to cross the blood brain barrier and affect your mu receptors. Once you have taken these for quite some time, these receptors will become more receptive. This is actually a bad thing because they are actually looking for more stimulation, and when you don't get it, you will start feeling withdrawal symptoms. You will start to sweat, shake, and possibly have a fever, all the while wanting these drugs even more. This is why so many people become lifelong addicts because of what it does to their body. That's why drug rehabilitation centers are the best way to stop your addiction to opiates, rehab centers that are near you.

Finding Rehab Centers That You Can Use

To find a rehab center, you simply have to ask your physician who is prescribing you these medications. You can also, if you were buying these off the street, find rehab centers in the phonebook. The Internet is also a great way to find these companies that are looking for people to help. If you can find one that is near to your location, this will make it very easy for you to stop by, check yourself in, and get through these withdrawal symptoms would help. Opiates do not have to control your life, and by using a rehab center, you will be able to get the help that you need right away.

The Many Long Term Problems Of A Speed Addiction

Speed, also called methamphetamine, can be one of the most addictive drugs known to man. Many people get started on speed at their workplace where they're working hard, repetitive jobs, many times on the night or graveyard shifts, where it's extremely difficult to stay alert and awake.

Once a person gets started taking speed, they get used to that feeling of power and strength that it gives them, then it's difficult to quit. Speed can be incredibly addicting psychologically as well as physically.  Let's take a look at some of the ways you can kick the speed habit.

When the speed addict wakes up in the morning, the first thing they want to do is get that first hit going so they're feeling good. Unfortunately, they're going to need more speed later on in order to maintain that same feeling of power and euphoria, then by the end of the day they are bouncing off-the-wall, talking in gibberish, with their  eyes so wide open they look like cartoon characters.

After just a few months of taking large quantities of methamphetamine on a daily basis, it is possible to damage your nervous system irreparably. In addition, speed is damaging to the heart and circulatory system, the liver, teeth, and many other parts your body as well

The long-term issues of a speed addiction are too numerous to list, and can vary widely depending on what it has been mixed with. Breaking the addiction to speed can be quite difficult and usually needs professional help on an inpatient basis. Depending on how long a person has been addicted, many times they will be permanently afflicted with mental problems, joint problems, and dental problems that require long-term and expensive care.

As you can see, being addicted to speed is a horrible addiction. If you, or anyone you know has started taking speed,  it's best to get them into a rehab program as soon as possible. There are thousands clinics all across the United States that can handle this kind of problem and a quick Internet search will locate one near you.

Tackle Your Barbiturate Addiction - Say Goodbye To Substance Abuse

My grandmother developed a lung condition in her 40's that was terminal. She wasn't expected to live more than five years after being diagnosed, but she made it almost another twenty! Throughout the years, she was on different medications to help and try to keep her airways flowing properly and also to reduce the risk of stroke and seizures.

However, after doing some research, it became apparent that she needed an updated prescription because the barbiturates she was taking were not good for her lungs. They were in fact prescribed as part of her regimen for stopping seizures.

When we found this out, we also realized how much of an effect the drugs had on her personality because she was always kind of curt and frank with people at times. This wasn't her fault, and we were then decided upon helping her get off the barbiturates and on a different medication.

She didn't have to check into an inpatient treatment program for this, however, but many people do find it necessary due to being addicted to different types of barbiturate substances. Since there are different types of these medications, each case is unique and must be treated in that fashion.

Drug tolerance becomes a big problem with barbiturates, and people often times don't even recognize the fact that they need help. Others around them generally do, and it can be hard to convince someone to seek out assistance. If you are that person needing help, take time out to realize the significance of your problem and what needs to change.

You will be much happier when you are barbiturate free. You might be worried about the symptoms that had you taking barbiturates to begin with. For instance some people take them for anxiety reasons or sleep disorders. But, the fact of the matter is you don't need to be dependent on barbiturates for any reason, and there are other ways to handle these matters.

My Experience With Heroin

Those who have dealt with smack will know what I am talking about in this little piece. You will realize how you start craving the black tar and just want it every second of the day. There were times when I used to be under this problem with junk that I just wanted to go out and jump off a bridge because I couldn't get away from my own needs. It seemed like a helpless cause to move forward in life because I knew that I would be back on the drugs again when things would change for the better.

It was important to make sure that I knew where the help was and what I had to do in order to get the kind of assistance that was going to change my life forever. I have to state that you cannot go to a point where you are just saying that "I am going to quit" and that will be it. This is not how things work when you are dealing with heavy drugs like this one. You have to be willing to make a change and that can only happen when you are ready to move forward with the best addiction treatment in town.

I was able to find the right path and make sure that I was able to get out from under this rut right away. I didn't have to deal with the black tar getting to me and ruining my life forever. I was able to live a great life right away and that is something that I maintain to this day and rightly so. Why should anyone have to deal with this because it is just not worth it! You need to make sure that you are getting the kind of results that you need.

How Do Magic Mushrooms Work?

Many people think of drugs as something you can buy from someone on the street. While many drugs are manufactured, some can be found naturally such as marijuana or "magic mushrooms." These plants are also referred to as 'shrooms for short among regular users. The chemical in these fungi that causes it to be a drug is something called psilocybin. This drug can be traced as far back as the days of the caveman, when people would eat them as food, not knowing of their psychoactive effects.

Soon, the word about the effects of these magic mushrooms spread, and was even used by the Spanish and the Europeans. These mushrooms can be found all over the world. When they are eaten by the user, the chemicals in them break down and cause the user to become giddy and experience hallucinations. The effects of mushrooms are much like those of acid or LSD, except that the substance is natural instead of manufactured.

Each person experiences something different when they ingest magic mushrooms. Sometimes, a person may just become very happy and laugh at everything. Other times, they may see things that are not there. A trip from magic mushrooms can last for as short as a couple of hours to a day or longer. This often depends on what the person ate, the potency of the mushrooms, and how many they ate.

In most cases, these 'shrooms are not dangerous to the human body and the effects wear off fairly quickly. Of all the drugs available, they tend to cause the least harm to people other than marijuana. Once the mushrooms are flushed from the body, they leave behind very little trace. This can explain why they are such a popular choice among recreational drug users all over the world.

Alcohol And Drug Abuse—A Social Calamity

Alcohol and drug misuse is truly a calamity. No matter what your age, nationality or gender, you are not free from the risk of alcohol and drug misuse.

What are the health dangers of such a misuse? And what is the treatment?

According to statistics, alcohol misuse is the third cause of death. The most common alcohol or drug abuse effects include headaches, outbursts of anger, sexual problems, concentration issues, and anxiety to name a few. Long term effects can include neurological harm, cardiovascular shortages, and damage to various organs, in particular to the liver.

So what are the symptoms of alcohol dependency?

Individuals who suffer from abuse of alcohol do not always exhibit the same symptoms. However, there are symptoms that can indicate a problem.

 Signs of alcohol abuse include:

Impatience
Lack of ability to control drinking
Fear of being incapable to function normally with no alcohol
A larger amount of alcohol is used than planned
Bodily cravings when alcohol consumption is lessened
Symptoms of withdrawal when amount used is lessened

Is there a treatment for alcohol and drug misuse?

Those who wish to overcome an alcohol misuse problem have a number of options. Treatment for alcoholism can only have an effect when the alcoholic accepts that he has a problem and agrees to stop drinking. Such an individual must be motivated to change. Treatment has the following three stages: detoxification, rehabilitation, and maintenance of sobriety.

There are a few medicines used in recovery from alcoholism and maintain sobriety. Disulfiram may be used after the detoxification stage is complete and the individual is abstinent. It interferes with metabolism of alcohol therefore drinking a small amount will result in side-effects like vomiting, nausea, confusion, and breathing problems. This drug doesn’t affect the motivation to drink so its use is most appropriate for alcoholics who are greatly motivated to stop drinking.

If your drinking is threatening your well-being, do not hesitate to make the needed changes. It can be for your own welfare and for the welfare of those who love you.

Intoxicating Inhalants - Seek Help From A Substance Abuse Center

Intoxicating inhalants, which include all kinds of substances, are used by many people to get "high." Instead of using traditional drugs, some people turn to these not only for the euphoric feeling but because it's easier to get their hands on them.

That being said, "huffing" is quite common among the younger crowd especially. Huffing is very dangerous and can even cause death. It kills brain cells and when a person who is still developing starts huffing, it hinders their mental growth and development.

The high from huffing generally is much shorter than most other drugs. Many people do not even consider the dangers of this type of substance abuse. Stores have taken precautions regarding known inhalants, but just like with other drugs, the people get their hands on them one way or another.

A rag soaked in the inhalant or solvent is one way that people abuse these substances, and another way is by using a plastic bag and covering the mouth. Have you heard about sudden sniffing death syndrome? It can happen, in an instant.

Since the majority of users are younger people, it is important to look for certain factors regarding inhalant abuse so that you can get them help. They are still developing and will not grasp the consequences and circumstances like an adult abuser would be able to do.

Get them the help they need. An underage person should be sent to a drug treatment facility because it's their life that hangs in the balance. These substances are definitely highly addictive, and the person often ends up inhaling more and more just to get some feeling of a high. Since these inhalants are cheaper than many drugs and consumption increases, you can see how this is extremely dangerous.

Vitamin R Abuse - Get Help Today

One of the most popular drugs that is used today for controlling ADHD is called Methylphenidate. On the street, it is very popular because of the effects that it has made it increases the amount of dopamine in your body. Known as MPH, R-ball, and Vitamin R, people enjoy using these drugs.

The popular ones are Concerta and Ritalin, and can get a high price on the street because of how addicting these drugs can be. Let's discuss what Methylphenidate actually does, why it is so popular, and conclude with where you can get help for this addiction.

Methylphenidate Overview

This is a psychostimulant drug which increases the activity of the central nervous system. Unlike other drugs like Valium which suppress the nervous system, this causes it to go out of control. It gives you a lot of mental alertness, helps you focus, and combats fatigue.

There are short-term benefits by using this, and should only be used by those that have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Unfortunately, people use this to experience a different state of mind, which usually leads to aggression or other bipolar changes in your personality.

Getting Treatment For Methylphenidate

If you want to get help for either amphetamines or methylphenidate, there are treatment centers in virtually every city that can help with a wide variety of drugs. If you are hooked on the stimulation and performance enhancing ability of this particular pharmaceutical drug, you can ween yourself of it with the help of the clinics that are available today.

Unlike opiates which actually cause overstimulation of certain receptors, and require you to continue taking them because of how your body reacts, it's a little easier to get off of ADHD medications, but you still need to work with professionals that can help you achieve this goal.

Ecstasy Is Not A Joke

There are many people out there who believe that ecstasy is something that is full of fun and excitement. The reality is that it is a drug that can take hold of your life and continue wrenching until there is nothing left. The name implies that it is all about having a good time, but the reality is not as fun.

Nowadays you hear people talk about popping Mollies like this is the new fad, but did you know that ecstasy is one of the ingredients in this hybrid new drug? It is supposed to be made up of the purest form of ecstasy, but in some cases it is a jumble of all types of things mixed together. As a result, the side-effects vary from person to person.

People have been experiencing violent episodes and in several cases they have taken the life of someone else. This does not sound like the party that people make ecstasy out to be. When many people mention it they insist that it is a sexual drug that will make experiences more intense. While this may be the case for some, there are many people out there who can tell you that this is far from the experience they had.

I know that I was curious about it once since there are so many people always acting like it is mild, but after doing some research I decided against it. The last thing I need in my life is to be addicted to some type of drug.

If you have been hearing many stories about how great ecstasy is and how you should give it a go, you should probably try your best to ignore them. Taking the advice of people who are trying to steer you in the wrong direction is a recipe for disaster.

LSD And How To Get Away From It

It can be hard to quit taking LSD if you enjoy it. However, there's no telling what it's doing to your life. Here's some information that you can go over so you can see if this is something you should get assistance with.

When you're trying to do drugs like LSD, there is no quality control from batch to batch. It could be great for you at one point, and then when you buy it again it could be a different chemical that could harm you in a bad way. You're going to want to really think about not taking drugs that you get off of the street because in the end this is something that will have you in trouble physically or mentally eventually. If possible any drugs should be tested for purity, but generally this is a very hard process to get someone to do due to the legal status of controlled substances.

To get off of this drug, it's about beating the mental addiction to it. This is where finding things to do when you're bored comes in that are not detrimental to you like drugs or alcohol. Instead, find something to do when you have nothing better to do like work on writing or even going on a bike ride to get more healthy. Whatever you decide to make your new hobby then you want to start doing that anytime you start to have cravings to get high.

Getting away from LSD and drugs in general is a good idea if you want to live a safe and clean life. While you may not think drugs are that big of a deal, it could be what ends up taking your life. This information should be able to help you.

What Is Alcohol Abuse?

If you're concerned about yourself or someone close to you, because of heavy drinking, and you're wondering whether this amounts to alcohol abuse, here are a few tips and signs to look out for that will help. Sometimes it's difficult to determine whether a person is simply enjoying some heavy drinking in social situations, or whether they're in need of help for alcohol abuse.

Here are a few of the things to look out for to help you ascertain if it's just fun, or a real problem. If the person feels ashamed or guilty about drinking, or if they lie about how much they've had to drink, or whether they've had a drink, there may be cause for concern. A person who finds that they need to have alcohol in order to feel better, and those who find they can't relax without having a drink are also possibly in need of help.

Certainly, black-outs and forgetting what you did when you were drunk are signs of alcohol abuse, and if they happen regularly, it's important to seek professional advice.

Another common issue is drinking more than you mean to. If you find you're regularly ending up drinking a lot more than you intended to drink, you may have a problem. Some of the more serious signs of alcohol abuse are cause for more concern. If you find you are regularly breaking the law as a result of your drinking, or you are finding yourself in potentially dangerous situations when you've been drinking, it's important to act immediately in seeking help. Other areas of concern are neglecting responsibilities because of alcohol, and continuing to drink heavily even though it is disrupting your life.

The rule of thumb is: if you feel any concern at all, or have any doubts about the drinking of yourself or a loved one, seek help immediately. It’ll either give you peace of mind that there isn't a problem, or it will give you the help you need.

Oxymorphone And Hydrocodone - Avoiding Addiction

There are many different types of painkillers that are derived from poppy seeds, specifically a plant called opium. This is actually grown in abundance in the Orient, and also in the Middle East, and is the source for the leading painkillers that are used today. These painkillers can come in many forms including Oxycodone HCL, Hydrocodone, Oxymorphone, and Meperidine. This article will discuss what these painkillers actually do, how they work, and how you can avoid an addiction to pain meds.

How These Opiate Based Drugs Help Reduce Pain

When you take drugs that are based upon opiates, they are able to interact with your central nervous system. They can work directly on mu and delta receptors in your brain which can stimulate pain relief. However, over time, your body begins to expect the amount that you have been taking to kill the pain, which means you could actually build up a tolerance to your existing prescription. This will cause you to want more of the drug, on top of the fact that you may develop a physical and mental dependence which is why many people have an addiction to these substances area

Avoiding An Opiate-Based Drug Addiction To Pain Meds

If you believe that you do have an addiction to these pain meds, but you haven't found a way to resolve the physical pain that you feel, you might want to try some herbal remedies, yoga, or even acupuncture, to find a way to control your pain. In the meantime, you can go to a clinic in your area that offers pain medicine addiction help. They will be able to get you on the right track, stop your dependency on these drugs, and using the alternative methods for controlling your pain, you can change your life in a positive and significant way.

The Everchanging Legal Status of Marijauna

Marijuana is a drug that has been in the news a lot lately. After spending decades being severely denounced as a dangerous drug with no medicinal values that was prominently featured in the war on drugs, the times have changes.

Many states have changed laws to permit the use of medical marijuana while a few others have changed laws to allow it to be sold openly, over the counter, to anyone who is 21 or over and has a valid identification card. Indeed times are changing and smoking a joint or using weed is now being recognized for its many beneficial uses.

When it comes to drug abuse, marijuana is not a huge concern.Only about 10% of users fall under the category of drug abuse and those usually have many other drugs that they also abuse. While most other drugs (and alcohol) carry the risk of overdose, there have been no cases of people overdosing on marijuana. Marijuana has also been debunked as a gateway drug.

Marijuana has many amazing medicinal benefits with more people discovered everyday. Marijuana is very useful for patients with glaucoma. It is also incredibly effective with the nausea that chemo patients suffer with. One of the best medicinal uses of weed is when it is used with people dealing with incapacitating seizures.

A special strain that is low on THC (which doesn't cause a high) is exceptional in reducing seizures in humans. Many patients go from hundreds of seizures a day or month to only a few with the help of marijuana. These patients have been able to resume normal lives due to marijuana.

But if you or someone you know, has an obvious addiction to marijuana, help is available. They can be treated and enroll in programs that will help them deal with the issues that got them addicted in the firsts place.

Addiction to Pain Meds - The Accidental Addiction

Addiction to pain meds is a growing problem. Many people who end up addicted to pain meds never thought it could happen to them because they never used recreational drugs and lived a drug free life. Then they end up with a severe injury or illness that required the use of Hydrocodone,Oxycodone HCL, Oxymorphone, Meperdine or another opioids and had to depend on them to control pain while they carried on with life.

Addiction doesn't always happen because someone is abusing drugs. Patients may be using their drugs as prescribed, but if they have chronic pain issue and have to be on those drugs for a long period of time, their body becomes used to having that drug in their system. They can build up a tolerance and require a higher dose just to get relief from their genuine pain.

Once they realize they are addicted, the nightmare begins for them. They don't want to be addicted but since they have genuine pain issues, they need the drugs to be able to function. They need to be able to  control the pain so that they can work, take care of their family and carry on in their life.

They do not wish to live a life on chronic pain, nor do they want to be an addict. They may have an image to maintain, lead a respectable life and have a background where they have always been anti-drug. Yet here they are - addicted to pain meds.

This is a real problem in the world of opioid addiction and one that needs professional help to be dealt with, both for the addiction and for the chronic pain issues. help is available but you have to admit the problem first.

Getting Help for Angel Dust Addiction

One of the most dangerous drugs that is abused in America today is angel dust. Originally created for medical use, it was found to cause extreme hallucinations and cause patients to become delirious. It was discontinued for medical use due to the extreme effects it had on patients. However, it quickly became popular on the black market.

When a person is on the drug, extreme visual and auditory hallucinations may occur. The user loses the ability to rationalize. Some may even become hostile. This is why it is critical that anyone addicted to is find help as soon as possible.

If you are addicted to PCP, you need to look into the treatment centers in your region. You may want to get the assistance of a trusted friend or family member due to the extreme effects of phencyclidine.

Once you enter the rehabilitation center, you will have the opportunity to detox from the chemicals in your body. The medical staff will monitor you and make sure you get through it safely.

After that, the staff will help you to navigate through life without drugs. You will have the opportunity to speak with a personal counselor and participate in group meetings with other patients. These therapeutic sessions will help you to cope with the emotional swings that accompany the early stages of getting clean from drugs.

In addition, the staff will help you to arrange for follow up treatment at a facility near you. It may take some time of discussion and work in order to fully reclaim your life. Attendance at support groups is often suggested.

If you are ready to improve the quality of your life, find a rehabilitation center that can assist you. You will be grateful that you made the effort to reclaim your life.
