The Everchanging Legal Status of Marijauna

Marijuana is a drug that has been in the news a lot lately. After spending decades being severely denounced as a dangerous drug with no medicinal values that was prominently featured in the war on drugs, the times have changes.

Many states have changed laws to permit the use of medical marijuana while a few others have changed laws to allow it to be sold openly, over the counter, to anyone who is 21 or over and has a valid identification card. Indeed times are changing and smoking a joint or using weed is now being recognized for its many beneficial uses.

When it comes to drug abuse, marijuana is not a huge concern.Only about 10% of users fall under the category of drug abuse and those usually have many other drugs that they also abuse. While most other drugs (and alcohol) carry the risk of overdose, there have been no cases of people overdosing on marijuana. Marijuana has also been debunked as a gateway drug.

Marijuana has many amazing medicinal benefits with more people discovered everyday. Marijuana is very useful for patients with glaucoma. It is also incredibly effective with the nausea that chemo patients suffer with. One of the best medicinal uses of weed is when it is used with people dealing with incapacitating seizures.

A special strain that is low on THC (which doesn't cause a high) is exceptional in reducing seizures in humans. Many patients go from hundreds of seizures a day or month to only a few with the help of marijuana. These patients have been able to resume normal lives due to marijuana.

But if you or someone you know, has an obvious addiction to marijuana, help is available. They can be treated and enroll in programs that will help them deal with the issues that got them addicted in the firsts place.

Addiction to Pain Meds - The Accidental Addiction

Addiction to pain meds is a growing problem. Many people who end up addicted to pain meds never thought it could happen to them because they never used recreational drugs and lived a drug free life. Then they end up with a severe injury or illness that required the use of Hydrocodone,Oxycodone HCL, Oxymorphone, Meperdine or another opioids and had to depend on them to control pain while they carried on with life.

Addiction doesn't always happen because someone is abusing drugs. Patients may be using their drugs as prescribed, but if they have chronic pain issue and have to be on those drugs for a long period of time, their body becomes used to having that drug in their system. They can build up a tolerance and require a higher dose just to get relief from their genuine pain.

Once they realize they are addicted, the nightmare begins for them. They don't want to be addicted but since they have genuine pain issues, they need the drugs to be able to function. They need to be able to  control the pain so that they can work, take care of their family and carry on in their life.

So they have a huge dilemma and are probably quite ashamed as well. The genuinely need the pain meds but they also realize that their drug use is becoming a serious problem. They do not wish to live a life on chronic pain, nor do they want to be an addict. They may have an image to maintain, lead a respectable life and have a background where they have always been anti-drug. Yet here they are - addicted to pain meds.

This is a real problem in the world of opioid addiction and one that needs professional help to be dealt with, both for the addiction and for the chronic pain issues. help is available but you have to admit the problem first.

The Real Cost On An Addiction To Pain Meds

Millions of people around the globe end up developing an addiction to prescription pain meds. In the beginning stages of an addiction, many people are able to trick their doctors into believing that they are in more pain than they actually in order to secure prescriptions for increasing amounts of pain meds, such as Hydrocodone and Oxycodone. Eventually, however, a doctor is likely to start trying to reduce the amount of pills that they prescribed.

Once an addict is refused pain meds from his or her doctor, the addict will most likely restore to securing his or her supply of prescription medications from questionable sources. There are now hundreds of offshore online pharmacies supplying illegal prescription drugs to addicts. These illegal prescription drugs are often laced with contaminates and they also often contain unregulated amounts of the active ingredients. In addition, illegal prescription drugs can be very expensive and addicts often end up turning to a life of crime in order to fund their addictions.

Fortunately, with the right help, it is possible for a person to recover from an addition to Oxycodone HCL, Hydrocodone, Oxymorphone and various other pain meds. Unfortunately, however, professional rehabilitation centers can be very expensive and many people can not afford to pay for the professional help that they need.

Undergoing detox without medical supervision can be very dangerous, as the effects of withdrawal can be life threatening. Many addicts are aware of the fact that stopping their intake of pills suddenly, without medical supervision, is dangerous, but since they can't afford to pay for such supervision, they continue their addiction to prescription pain meds. There are some government funded prescription med addiction support programs around, but such programs are few and far between and almost none existent in rural areas.

About Steroids – The Good And The Harmful

When it comes to steroids, there are actually two types: anabolic and corticosteroid. Between the two, anabolic is the one that’s been abused by body builders who want to build muscle fast. Corticosteroid steroids, on the other hand, are used to treat a variety of symptoms including arthritis, asthma, lupus, multiple sclerosis, eczema, rashes and certain types of cancer.

Steroids are also referred to as roids, stackers or juice. They’re really nothing more than body hormones. Cortisone and estrogen are common steroids. What do they do? They simulate male hormones in the body. The only time you should be using steroids is when you’re having delayed puberty, are having erection problems or are suffering from hypogonadism. Since steroid drugs can be misused, only a small number of them are accepted in the United States for animal and human use.

What are the long-term effects of steroids? In men, they can shrink testicles, cause balding and the formation of breasts. In women, they could impact the menstrual cycle. You only need to do some research on the Internet to know that it’s true. There are many male body builders who like women, and there are many women body builders who look like men after prolonged steroid use. It’s like steroids give you a free ticket pass to non-surgical gender reassignment.

If that’s not bad enough, steroids so cause real health problems. They can cause hypertension or high blood pressure, cause internal blood clotting, and increase your cholesterol levels. If you have three of those combined, they can cause heart failure.

If you are using steroids stop using them right now and only use them according to the doctor’s direction. Steroids are actually non-addicting, however, some people’s unrelenting drive to build muscles do cause them to abuse the drug.

Addiction To Pain Meds - Opioids Codeine And More

If you have recently been diagnosed with having chronic pain, and have been given a prescription for opioids like morphine, codeine, or Vicodin with Tylenol, it is possible that you could develop an addiction to pain meds. Tylenol with codeine, though less effective than drugs like Norco or Percocet, can also lead to a life of addiction. In this article, we will look at possible ways that you can avoid becoming addicted to these drugs, and still maintain a positive life free from pain.

Opioids and morphine derivatives are prescribed by doctors across the nation as a remedy for chronic pain. The unfortunate side effect of feeling better is that an addiction to these medications may occur. The strongest addiction happen when people use opioids that affect their mu receptors. When this occurs, the need for constant access to opiate based drugs may develop within your system.

One of the easiest ways to end this addiction is to stop using these medications altogether. You will go through a series of withdrawals which may include restless leg syndrome, night sweats, and general shaking which will develop in your hands. Although this will eventually end, it usually takes about six weeks for the opiates to run through your system. It also takes that long for the mu receptors to become accustomed to lower amounts of stimulation, allowing you to resume life as normal once again.

In order to deal with your pain, however, you will have to use an alternative form of medication. You can either use ibuprofen which can help with muscular pain, or use natural remedies like Kratom which can create the same effects as opiate based drugs without the addictive consequences. By using these suggestions, you will be able to monitor and manage your pain levels, yet not become addicted as you begin to feel better using these natural supplements.
